About MACY.
A voice beyond genre.
Biography
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, MACY. is a San Francisco based singer and songwriter and a classically trained soprano. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Voice from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Music in Voice from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
Her performance career has taken her from the opera stage to some of San Francisco’s most distinctive musical settings, including roles such as Susanna in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Morgana in Handel’s Alcina and Adina in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore. She has performed with some of the greatest voices of her generation.
She brings the scale, vulnerability and vocal freedom of her operatic background into her own songwriting, drawing on the atmospheric worlds of Mazzy Star, Lana Del Rey and The Marías alongside the vocal artistry of Maria Callas.
Her sound sits between atmospheric songwriting, Americana and the dramatic instinct of a singer raised on opera. It is not a departure from classical music, but an evolution of it.
She is working on an original body of music with Los Angeles producer and songwriter Sam Pounds. Her new single “Wild Man” is out November 6, 2026.
